Winter Wedding Decorations are not too different than Summer Wedding Decorating. Flowers, candles, fabric are still an important part of creating a romantic atmosphere.

However, a winter wedding theme has the elements of holiday decorating already in place in many venues, which will save you extra decorating costs.

Of all the winter wedding ideas you'll gather, your decorations will really express your theme the most. Here is a list of ideas. You'll have to keep your own wedding colors in mind when considering any of these.

One of my favorite winter wedding decorations is creating a winter wonderland inside your reception room with willow branches sprayed with snow and lights added. The room takes on a romantic glow with a winter forest look.

The best way to create this look is filling buckets (can be painted in your wedding colors) with sand or rocks and gravel and setting large willow or pine branches inside. They can also be set within cement if they are too large for sand. This is not as hard as it sounds and can be done well in advance. The results are worth the effort. Along with the lights, you can add small snowflake ornaments or even put the guests name cards on the branches for fun.

Crystals and faux snowflakes on the table bring that winter feeling inside and the crystal will sparkle if you have small white lights on the centerpieces nearby.

Sprigs of green pine tree branches with icicle lights can be hanging from doorways or pillar posts.

Winter wedding ideas for Favors:

I think it's always best to buy favors that are useful for guests, and won't just collect dust on a shelf, yet are fun.

Here are a few ideas:

Personalized glass ornaments in a winter theme, or personalize your own with glitter paint pens for a cheap idea.
Cups or tins filled with hot cocoa with personalized wrappers
Tie wedding colored ribbon around pretty candles with a sprig of a pine branch or flower.
Large faux diamonds at each place setting with each of your guests name can also be used as favors.

Check out some great flower decorations. The right flowers can add color into your winter wedding decorations and centerpieces. Popular winter wedding flowers are: Tulips, Roses, Orchids, Amaryllis and poinsettia's with Ivy and Holly plants as popular foliage ideas.
Table centerpieces can simply be bowls or cylinders filled with cranberries and water with a floating flower or poinsettia on top.
Or, nestle a votive candle in small bowls of cranberries or colored glass ornaments and glitter.
Pine branches laid length ways on long tables wrapped in small white lights, with simple white and red poinsettias or roses, look stunning during an evening wedding.
Sprinkling sparkling confetti or colored mirrored marble rocks on the tables reflects the lights, or sprinkle snow type flakes on the table
A mirror in the center of each table with candles, or wine glasses with floating candles also looks romantic and is easy to do.
