Growing up in Arizona, this one would be an easy one for me. This is a great theme if your wedding location will be in a barn or countryside, or you just like the down home western look.
So, y'all How western do you want your theme to go? (O.k. that's enough of the 'western lingo')
Here are some ideas:
Send western wedding invitations with sprigs of hay or straw inside as a teaser, or make your own.
Buy recycled type brown paper. Burn the edges for a rustic look, have your wording be in a stencil font, roll it up with raffia and on a small boot or horseshoe charm you can get these at a craft store
Mailing these may require more postage as you’ll need to have larger envelopes, but what a great and creative western wedding invitation idea.
Inside the invitation, ask guests to dress the part. Encourage boots, bandanas etc…
Not so formal? Groom and groomsmen can wear wranglers and nice black shirts, with cowboy boots of course. The groom has the cowboy hat.
Get white satin boots and a pink or satin white cowgirl's hat, or whatever your wedding colors are.
A Western wedding dress can be as simple as a lace dress that isn’t too fancy. Red wedding dresses are even becoming more popular today and fits in well with a western wedding, if you don't mind being different.
Brown and reds go nicely or denim blue. Want softer colors? pinks, yellows, or wildflower colors all look great in a western wedding theme.
Decorate your reception area, with haystacks all over for seating, if your site allows this.
Rent large wagon wheels and have a bull riding machine for a fun, yet non traditional wedding addition to your party.
Find an old saddle to hang over the head table.
Put white lights on potted trees (or nearby cactus’s?)around the reception room.
Burlap in the center with clay pots of simple flowers look nice, or get some tin cans spray them your wedding colors and fill with flowers for centerpieces. It shouldn't be anything too fancy.
Find horseshoes and paint your guests name on each one for place cards. Or, have horse shoes set up at the center of each able.
Cowboy hats filled with flowers, hay and branches makes a fun centerpiece too.
Put candles in mason jars for the tables and hang them, or old fashioned lanterns, from trees if it’s an outside wedding, or from the rafters of a barn. It casts a wonderful glow and spruces up any otherwise drab setting.
Thrift stores sometimes carry cowboy boots you can fill with flowers for decoration.
Cover picnic tables with gingham tablecloths in your wedding colors.
Or, cover tables with butcher paper and lacy linens for a rustic, feminine look. If you’ll be having children’s tables, leave the lace off of those and supply them with crayons and markers to draw right on the butcher paper.

They are plentiful from cowboy boot candles to personalized labels of hot sauce or bbq bottles. Be sure to get favors your guests will actually find useful.
Food could be BBQ chicken ribs, burgers, potatoes, corn. Iced tea, root beer, you get the idea. Serve cocktails in country mason jars or beer mugs.
A Western wedding theme is one of those themes that you can really add a lot of details and have some fun with.
So if you’re not the type that’s looking for a wedding that is too much fuss and frills, have fun y'all with a western wedding theme!
