Is there a "wrong wedding color scheme"? Maybe not, if you love it. However, it's important to learn these basic facts about color and the emotions they can produce, to make your day all you dreamed it would be!

Have you ever walked in a room that was so full of bright colors, it just made you smile? Or, Have you ever had to sit in a gray and boring room with no color that you just felt gloomy being there? that would be DMV for me.

It is proven that color evokes certain moods or feelings. What kind of wedding will yours be and what will the mood be?

A bride that wants a quiet, intimate wedding may want a different type of atmosphere than one who will have a lively "party all night" wedding.

The blues, coral and yellows in these bouquets suggest a lively unique and festive wedding!

Learn about the emotions and symbolization that various colors evoke, before you choose your wedding color scheme:

BLUE:

Symbolizing trust, loyalty, peace and harmony and reminiscent of calmness in the sky and water. Interestingly, it tends to slow down the heart rate and reduce appetite.

RED:

The most emotionally charged or intense color. It stimulates a faster heart rate and breathing. Red clothing gets noticed easier but can make the wearer appear heavy.

PINK:

The softer version of red, initiating feelings of love and tranquility. Soothes and calms, yet still evokes much emotion as it's bolder red cousin does.

GREEN:

Green relaxes people and symbolizes nature, health, renewal, jealousy and even fertility.

BLACK:

Represents power, sexuality, sadness, elegance or anger. It speaks of formality and sophistication.

YELLOW:

represents optimism, joy, hope and sunshine. An attention getter and can be overwhelming for the eye to look upon if over used. Paired with orange, yellow is great for fall wedding flowers.

WHITE:

The color of purity and innocence, simplicity and peace. It is the color that is easiest for the eye to look upon when paired with many other colors.

ORANGE:

Attention getting! Elicits energy, but not as much as red. Often thought of as a fall color; Having orange in your wedding color scheme symbolizes warmth, enthusiasm, vibrant and even caution.

Also, think about your bridesmaids and their skin coloring. Different dress colors may really affect their appearance.

Warm complexions have red, yellow or peach undertones and look best with those colors. Cool color complexions are lighter and have blueish, pink or violet undertones. Unsure? check under your wrist for your skin color hue.

It's something to keep in mind, but you ultimately have to choose the wedding color scheme that is right for you.
