Like a pro with many creative
and cheap wedding ideas

Does thinking about how to plan a wedding leaving you a bit stressed and overwhelmed? I understand that feeling, I felt overwhelmed too, and it's perfectly normal.

Fabulous beach weddings don't just happen.

Yet, you CAN do this without feeling stressed... and I'll take you through it, step by step.

How to plan a weddingYet, it doesn't have to be difficult if you have an organized plan, plus some creative and money saving ideas

Step 1

First, It's important to start with a wedding timeline which is simply a countdown of everything you need to do before your wedding day, and it will help you know that nothing was forgotten.

Learning how to plan a wedding really starts with following this timeline AND a detailed wedding planning checklist just to stay organized.

Your checklist will help you know what items you'll need to purchase so you can stick closely to your budget ahead of time.

Step 2

Second, You'll need to think early on about wedding themes you may want.

If you are truly interested in beach wedding ideas, I'll show you how to plan a wedding by coordinating your wedding theme with whatever wedding colors you've chosen.

When you decide upon your wedding theme, your choice of wedding colors may fall into place naturally. (for example navy blue, red and white with nautical or pastel shades for a garden theme.)

You really can learn how to plan a wedding with cheap wedding ideas and products that don't come from a five and dime shop.

An important way to keep organized while following your checklist and timeline is found in my wedding organization and ideas section.

Step 3

When learning how to plan a wedding, you'll need to hire wedding professionals (or vendors) for each part of your wedding needs.

Here are insider tricks and tips from some top wedding vendors that shared ways to get the best for your wedding:

  • The Photography
Set your budget and tell the photographer what it is. Ways to save money are marrying on a Sunday or other less busy day. Also, book as early as one year or more away. Ask to see his portfolio and if the photo's hung in his office were taken by him. (Some less experienced photographers display others work...so it's good to know if he really is the full time professional he proclaims to be or if this is just a part time job. click here to get some wedding photographer tips to find a right photographer
  • The Videography
Choose one that is specifically experienced in videography. You'll want them to be know how to handle various lighting and movement challenges that only those with experience can pull off well. Make sure their style matches what you want in your video. Do you like special effects or more of a story type video. Let him know your preferences ahead of time.
  • The Flowers
Choose flowers in season for the lowest prices. Vary tall centerpieces with low centerpieces for variety and to keep flowers out of your guests view of each other. More flowers is not necessarily better for the extra cost. Fewer large dramatic blossoms can have high impact and wow your guests with less expense for you.
  • The Food
Table stations with various foods are becoming more popular than buffets. Interview various caterers, and take your time finding one your comfortable with. Visit an event they're catering to see how smoothly it's handled. Think of food that means something to your fiance and you. Is there a special lasagna your Grandma made? Would your caterer be willing to recreate it for your menu to add that personal touch?
  • The Music & Entertainment
Is their style and personality mesh with the type of mood and atmosphere you'll want? Try to be flexible, they are experienced and will be able to read the crowd and play the best music accordingly. Tell your entertainment what age group your guests are. This helps them know what type of music is appropriate. Hiring a DJ? Be sure to meet the actual DJ that will perform for your wedding, since some larger companies just send one from the various one's that work there.
  • The cake
Taste test everything. Try flavors that are conducive to the season. Lighter fillings for summer and spring and heavier fillings for colder times of year. Get baker recommendations from other wedding professionals that know which ones are well sought after. Remember to tell your baker if the reception will be outside so they can choose the right ingredients. (Fondant holds up best to temperatures outside).

-Just a personal note-

This happened at my wedding. During the ceremony, after we lit our unity candle as one, the candle went out. The look on my face showed some panic, but my quick thinking husband found another nearby candle and the unity flame was lit once more. It's funny to look back at that video today!
