This is located on the central eastern coast of the peninsula de Nicoya in Guanacaste; it is a relatively quiet setting where you’ll find that the waters are always calm and a clear shade of blue.

This long 6 km stretch of beach is home to the "Barcelo Tambor beach resort" a place well known for hosting foreign weddings and for offering a number of high quality value for money wedding packages.

Most of the beach weddings at Tambor last for 1 – 2 weeks and include a number of features; A horse drawn carriage for newly weds, complimentary dinner with champagne, a wedding cake, altar setup, flowers, wine and photography services, these are jut a few of the perks.

A few miles up the coast towards the opening to the peninsula de Nicoya is Montezuma a small sleepy coastal town, which would make an ideal wedding destination for you and your partner, there are several private beach locations plus the possibility of going into the town for an after wedding ceremony party.

The upside to Montezuma is that it lies off the beaten tourist track, so you won’t have to put up with endless lines of people wanting to take photos of you and your partner and it will also make it a more personal event.

Beach wise you have several busy and quiet stretches, there’s the Playa Montezuma a world renown travel destination, the Playa Las Manchas a smaller beach with unbelievably white sand and turquoise blue water.

A little further down the coast going in towards Tambor is the Tango Mar beach, which has a resort that offers very good deals on wedding packages.

The packages will have similar features to those from Tambor, though they might be a little more pricey as there are fewer hotels and resorts in the area.

Besides Tambor beach there are various other places to host your wedding in Costa Rica. One other place is ‘Tamarindo Beach’, which is another long stretch of beach with whiter sand in comparison to Tambor, but a little more tourist full.

The upside to Tamarindo is the number of beautiful resorts; with many of them eager for your business you may be able to find a better package price.

Tour final choice of beach for the wedding ceremony should depend on both beauty and the price of the wedding. You may find that most of the wedding packages offered by the resorts situated along these beaches will be well within your budget and will probably cost you much less than having your wedding at home.

Both of the beaches in the Tambor and Montezuma areas are beautiful in their own ways, though Montezuma offers spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and has fewer tourists wandering about.

In terms of cost and getting a full package deal, Tambor has more hotels and resorts to choose from, a quick search online will help you compare between them.

If you're looking for a quiet wedding ceremony with just you and your family, don't choose Tambor as the location.
